One of the youngest nations of our world is the modern state of Israel, which was established in 1948. When Baruch Maoz immigrated to Israel as a young boy in 1953 there were very few Christian citizens or national Christian organizations in the fledgling country. God placed His hand on Baruch 10 years later, drawing him to Jesus, the Messiah. Since then he has been at the forefront of supplying Israel with printed Christian material in Modern Hebrew. He has also been at the forefront of preaching Christ and evangelizing in his nation.
Baruch has been a force for bringing together Jewish and Arab Christians, both within his country and between Israel and the Palestinian state. He is presently encouraging the formation of educational institutions to provide trained leaders for the growing number of Christian churches within his nation. I have had the privilege of Baruch’s friendship and of lending some small assistance to his efforts by prayer and fellowship since the early 1970s. His lifestyle is woven into the history of the advancement of Christianity in modern Israel. His labors deserve the support of those who pray for a general turning of Jewish people to “Jesus, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham” (the first verse of the New Testament. Rev. Walter J.
